[edit]I'm very confused as to why this article has been identified as non-encyclopaedic, so I've taken it on myself to remove the template notice, whilst expanding the article. Deb 16:07, 25 Jul 2004 (UTC)
I assume these guys were named for the Steely Dan song Deacon Blues. Bastie 01:16, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
Past tense
[edit]Why is this article written in the past tense? Deacon Blue reformed in 1999 and are still gigging. Waggers 16:44, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:DBRaintown.jpg
[edit]Image:DBRaintown.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:09, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

- It's fair use in the album article only. I took it down, along with the flag. WP:FLAGCRUFT is an interesting essay which explains why proliferating national flags throughout Wikipedia is a bad thing. --John 06:02, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Origin of the name
[edit]The opening says they got their name from a Steely Dan song, but I thought they got their name from a song by Maddy Prior. This was just something I once heard on a quiz programme - perhaps compilers of the quiz confused Steely Dan with Steeleye Span! ACEOREVIVED (talk) 19:23, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
